Ball Event Definitions

Out of Field

The ball has completely crossed the boundary lines of the field, either the goal line or the sideline, resulting in a stoppage of play.

Goalkick

Awarded when the ball crosses the goal line last touched by an opposing player without a goal being scored, resulting in a goal kick for the defending team.

Corner

Awarded when the ball crosses the goal line last touched by a defending player without a goal being scored, resulting in a corner kick for the attacking team.

Goal Post

Occurs when the ball strikes the goal frame (the vertical posts or the crossbar). The ball may remain in play or go out of play depending on the rebound.

Side Line
